Monday Pick

"Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman," airing at 9 p.m. on Sundance
If you ever needed a dose of "girl power," this is where to get it. And even if you don't, (a.ka. you're a guy), watch it and get a sense of just who your significant other, sister, mother, friend is and how she fits into today's world. Filmmaker Jennifer Fox explores her own life's experiences and those of others to determine what it means to be a "free woman" in society today.

Tuesday Pick

"Left for Dead: Miracle on Everest," airing at 9 p.m. on National Geographic
This true story, narrated by climber Lincoln Hall, his partners, wife and children, shows a reenactment of Hall's climb blended with actual footage and dramatized scenes that will make you question how he survived and lived to tell about his climb on the world's most chilling and challenging mountain after being declared dead.

Wednesday Pick

"American Idol" Live Finale, airing at 8 p.m. on Fox
See which new "star" will spend a total of 6 weeks on the charts before their record label drops them and America forgets them entirely. It's David vs. David – the pretty boy who always looks like he's whining when he sings vs. the "rocker" who quotes Patrick Swayze in his online profile. Way to pick 'em, America.

Thursday Pick

"Last Comic Standing" premiere, airing at 9:30 p.m. on NBC
Everyone needs a few good laughs every now and then. The talent scouts start their sixth season with auditions in New York and Arizona. New this season: the network will use a revolving door of past and present comedy stars from various NBC series as talent scouts.

Friday Pick

"The Soup," airing at 10 p.m. on E!
I bypass this show each week I write this because I always think to myself, "there must be something else better on TV on a Friday night." But no – there's not. And I happen to think Joel McHale, Lou and Mankini are quite hysterical. Especially when Joel makes fun of Ryan Seacrest – because ya know – they don’t slightly resemble each other or anything.

Saturday Pick

"The Mystery of the Human Hobbit," airing at 10 p.m. on Science
A team of archaeologists discover an 18,000-year told skeleton which raises the question of whether the remains are of a new human species or that of a human with a disability.

Sunday Pick

"The National Memorial Day Concert," airing at 8 p.m. on PBS
Each year of the eve of Memorial Day, this annual tradition honors the bravery and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform, their families and those who lost their lives for our country. Gladys Knight, Rodney Atkins and General Colin L. Powell are just some of the attendees.
