Alfa Laval, a manufacturer of heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling equipment, has closed an agreement to acquire Standard Refrigeration, a Chicago-based supplier of shell-and-tube heat exchangers for a variety of refrigeration, air-conditioning and industrial applications in the North American market.
"By acquiring Standard Refrigeration we are increasing our presence in the North American commercial refrigeration and industrial markets," said Lars Renström, CEO of the Swedish company, in a press release. "Standard Refrigeration will be integrated into Alfa Laval in order to capture synergies such as a wider product portfolio combined with an enhanced market presence."
Alfa Laval runs its U.S. sales out of Richmond. There was no indication in the press release what impact the consolidation might have on Richmond operations.
