Paula Gulak, a founding partner of SyCom Technologies, has announced her intention to leave the company this fall to pursue other interests.
As the partner in charge of marketing, public relations and business development, Gulak was the public face of SyCom, one of the largested IT service companies based in the Richmond region. She has been extremely active in Richmond’s technology community, having served as president of the Greater Richmond Technology Council as well as the boards of the Center of Innovative Technology, the Virginia Technology Alliance and other organizations.
"Going forward, my plan is to continue to work and be involved in the technology sector and to also pursue interests that have been sitting on the back burner for some time," Gulak said in a press release today. "SyCom is a wonderful company with great people. I take so much pride in having been a part of its birth, its image and its growth. It has been an exciting 12+ years, however, I am ready for a change and new challenges."
Gulak’s decision has been brewing for some time. She has been discussing the move with SyCom CEO Tom Cricchi for several months, and she’s announcing it now, she said, to ensure a smooth transition.
"Paula’s contributions to SyCom are a cornerstone of our success, from her impact inside the company on our culture and spirit of community service to her relationships with Virginia’s information technology leaders, to her influence on me personally as a marketing and business development mentor," stated Cricchi. "It’s a melancholy day for SyCom when Paula moves on to her next successful venture, but we thank her and wish her all the best."
