Massey Energy Co. has finished its acquisition of Mountaineer #2 mine in Greenbrier County, W. Va. The mine, with 200,000 tons of mid volatility metallurgical coal used to make steel, will soon be reopened.

Richmond-based Massey will also have access to 2 million tons of  the same type of coal. Exports of the coal are likely to be handled by CSX which runs lines from Greenbrier County through Central Virginia and the Richmond area and on to Newport  News.
