Comcast To Hike Rates

Cable fees will go up for many Richmond area residents starting Nov. 1. 

Comcast will raise its rates by as much as 6.4 percent for its Standard Service which includes local broadcast stations and CNN and ESPN to $59 from $55.45.

Digital Classics will go from $75.35 to $79.90; Digital Starter Service will go up from $56.45  to $59 and monthly fees for premium channels such as HBO, Cinemax and Showtime will go up by $1.

 

All in all, rates will increase 3.7 percent but some fees for high speed Internet service will decrease.

 

Comcast serves a quarter of a million people in the Richmond area.
