Economists agree that higher education and skilled job training are the best way to achieve greater career security and higher pay over time.
Just consider that in April, the national unemployment rate for people without a high school diploma stood at 12.5 percent, compared with only 4 percent for people older than 25 with a four-year degree, according to U.S. Labor Department statistics.
