I don't usually write about Charlottesville restaurants because... well, I work for a website called Richmond.com and there are plenty of great restaurants in town to write about.
But when the news broke last week that Glass Haus Kitchen, the acclaimed Charlottesville restaurant with a James Beard semi-finalist for Best Chef Mid-Atlantic in the kitchen, was closing after a less than a year, the national foodie community, including plenty of Richmonders, was shocked.
