Dewi Decimal, Albert Gorithm IV and Pete Pythagorus (The Mathematicians) throw down in complex numerical ways. You better bone up on the value of pi, to at least 14 decimal places. Also playing are The Point (from DC, which knows nothing of higher math judging by the federal budget) and Shut Up and Dance, the best band name that doubles as a pick-up line. Ever. Joan Osborne at Toad's Place

The soulful chanteuse is touring behind her brand spanking new record, "Little Wild One." Matt Morris opens. Tickets $25, doors at 7 p.m.

You must be one of the "loitering youths?" The police force is retained for crowd control at a LOT of city events -- including the July 4 fireworks on Riverside Drive. Seems to me that's an important contribution in a vital city with active participants.

anyone wanting to see something amusing come down near Toads place when Nellys show gets out. You'll be shocked at how much of your tax dollars go to pay the police to clear the Bottom of all the loitering youths afterwards (takes them about an hour of sirens and bullhorns). at least 6 2-person cop teams. I like when they do the coordinated thing where suddenly the street gets filled with 6=8 cop cars converging from all directions at once attempting to scare the youths off.
