Ninth and Cary streets around the BB&T bank at 823 E. Main St. are now open, according to a news release from the Richmond Police Department. East Main Street between Eighth and Ninth streets, which was closed this morning, reopened this afternoon.
The block was closed because a piece of metal that became partially detached from the BB&T building Wednesday afternoon fell from the building onto Main Street around 1 a.m. No one was injured.
Strong winds pulled the metal piece partially off the building Wednesday afternoon.
