Imagine -- sitting at home watching TV with your "honey-bunny," when all of a sudden the channel switches.

Now on the screen is a video of your "boo" in an entertaining outfit, complete with whatever music and props his creative little mind can muster, when finally, you realize he's about to pop the question.

"Will you marry me?"

Don't laugh just yet, ladies. It could very well happen to you.

And gentlemen -- if you've been thinking of popping the question lately, you may want to try what Comcast Searchlight On Demand is offering. It's certainly one way to add a little pizzazz to your proposal.

While popping the question in-person may seem to take hours (with all those nerves skewing your perception of reality), Searchlight On Demand's Proposal Man Contest may help take the edge off.

At least up to the part where you're left waiting for your "snooker-doodle" to answer.

The Proposal Man Contest invites local residents to enter a video proposal, no longer than two minutes in length, that's creative, original, sappy, heart-warming and overall entertaining.

After reviewing all entries, up to 10 finalists will be chosen to have their videos broadcasted on Searchlight On Demand as well as the official Web site, proposalman.com.

Eager contestants can start uploading their videos to the Web now, with the entry deadline running until Sunday, July 20. Once the finalists are chosen, the public will ultimately have the ability to vote on the winner, both on Searchlight and online, from Aug. 8 through Aug. 28.

While the public will ultimately decide on a frontrunner, each finalist is sure to be a winner in the eye of their anticipated affianced. How could she refuse a premeditated, television proposal?

However, for the aforementioned champion of romance, a grand prize of $5,000 from Carreras Jewelers awaits to be used towards the purchase of a beautiful engagement ring.

So, are you a Richmond Casanova ready to transform himself into a committed gentleman? The official rules, contest details, prize information and tips on how to enter your proposal correctly can all be found online at proposalman.com.

Happy proposing, Romeo!
