The state Board of Health will hold a hearing Thursday to solicit comments on proposed rules that would compel Virginia’s existing abortion clinics to comply with the same building requirements as new hospitals.

The hearing, which will be held at 1 p.m. at state offices at 9960 Mayland Drive in Henrico County, is one of two scheduled for the next week. Holding the hearings is one of the last steps in the process toward permanent implementation of the regulations, which will be subject to a final vote by the board on April 12. The other hearing is March 12 in Alexandria.
