This wasn't an easy question to research, but I'm a sucker for nature, maps, history and mystery.

Old maps and books talk about Jordan's Branch creek in Richmond's West End. In the early 1900's, Westwood Baptist Church used it as a Baptismal pond near the intersection of Willow lawn and Patterson. However, from what I can tell, the creek currently emerges from huge culverts near the intersection of Markel Rd. and Willow Lawn Dr. What happened to the creek? Where are its headwaters currently? Is it above ground anywhere else in the West End? - J.S.
