The U.S. Supreme Court said Monday that it will not hear an appeal of a ruling that struck down Virginia’s anti-sodomy law.

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s office had sought the appeal, arguing that in throwing out the Virginia law, a federal appeals court had “erroneously interpreted” the high court’s landmark 2003 Lawrence v. Texas decision “as facially invalidating all state sodomy statutes.”
