McCUTCHEON, Cary Page, born January 20, 1957, died on November 29, 2013, at his home in Richmond after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Joseph B. McCutcheon of Richmond; and his grandparents, Andrew H. and Elsie McCutcheon, of Charleston, W.Va., and Cary Page and Medora B. Flythe, of Emporia, Va. He is survived by his mother, Anne F. McCutcheon; his beloved best friend, Nancy Prokopis; and brother, Joseph B. McCutcheon Jr. and his wife, Vivian and their children, Jaime, Baker (Carolyn), Medora and Nicholas. Cary graduated from the University of Virginia (with distinction) and received a master's in landscape architecture from Virginia Tech. Cary was a licensed landscape architect and practiced for over 30 years in Richmond and Charlottesville. He served as one of the leaders in the multi-year campaign to secure licensure for landscape architects in Virginia, a successful effort that transformed the profession. Cary enjoyed design, art and music. He loved to write and was well-traveled. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, 1800 Lakeside Ave., Henrico, Va. 23228. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 411 E. Grace St. Interment will be private.
