Richmond.com Wins National "Best Content" Award

San Francisco, Calif. – Richmond.com, Richmond's premier online portal and member of Associated Cities, won "Best Content" award at the GeoDomain Expo in San Francisco, Calif. on Nov. 16.

The award was voted on by members of Associated Cities.

"Richmond.com has listened to their users’ feedback and provided rich, detailed, up-to-date content that covers everything the site’s users desire," said Patrick Carleton, executive director of Associated Cities.

"The membership of Associated Cities recognizes Richmond.com as one of the best developed GeoDomains in the world and clearly demonstrates this by acknowledging Richmond.com’s comprehensive content as a model for all GeoDomains to emulate," Carleton continued.

Associated Cities currently represents 110 city partner sites in 28 states and the District of Columbia. Its network consists of the most intuitive and compelling city.com brands online.

Barry Hodge, President of Richmond.com, announced the award to the staff last month saying, "We are absolutely delighted to be honored with this prestigious award. We believe our strong partnerships with the Richmond Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Greater Richmond Chamber, the Richmond Association of Realtors, the Retail Merchants Association of Greater Richmond, the Greater Richmond Partnership, INC., and our many content providers, enhance our site well above all others.

"Richmond.com’s editorial staff continues to focus on unique content reflecting Richmond in a positive light. All of these benefits create an inviting environment for our users and an effective background for our advertisers," Hodge continued.

Richmond.com is the premiere online portal in the Greater Richmond, Virginia area. With well over 300,000 unique visitors generating over 4.2 million pages of content to user requests each month, Richmond.com has quickly proven it reflects both the personality and interests of the Richmond marketplace at large. In essence, it is Richmond online. It has fast become a favorite website for Richmonders, as well as a valuable resource for local advertisers seeking affordable, innovative ways to reach their target audience.
