- Virginia Tech at Florida State
When: 9 p.m. TV: CSN+ Radio: WRNL (910)
Where: Tucker Center, Tallahassee, Fla.
Records: Virginia Tech 8-13, 1-8; Florida State 13-8, 4-5
Key players: VT: F Jarell Eddie 14.2 ppg., 5.7 rpg.; G Devin Wilson 4.4; FSU: G Ian Miller 12.7 ppg., 3.2 apg.; F Okaro White 6.7 rpg.
What to watch: Senior wing Jarell Eddie was held to two points in Saturday’s 80-60 home loss to Maryland. Eddie, Tech’s leading scorer, was 0 for 9 shooting, including 0 for 5 from beyond the 3-point arc as the Hokies lost by 20 points or more for a third straight game. … Virginia Tech likely won’t have sophomore guard Adam Smith for the fifth straight game because of a stress fracture in his left leg. Smith, who sat out last season after transferring from UNC Wilmington, said he expects to have an X-ray “soon” to determine the progress of his healing.
Notable: Tech has lost eight straight and 10 of its past 11. It is 20-27 all-time against the Seminoles and hasn’t won in Tallahassee since 1989. Florida State also is scuffling, having lost three straight and four of its last five. Saturday it lost 53-49 at home to Clemson. Three of its past four games have been decided by four points or less.

BLACKSBURG At 6-foot-9, senior center Cadarian Raines of Virginia Tech is nearly a foot taller than the average American male. Yet during basketball practice, Raines said he feels a bit undersized.
That’s because he’s often working against 6-10 sophomore Joey van Zegeren and 6-11 freshman Trevor Thompson.
