U.Va.’s Harris, Mitchell aim to end on high note

CHARLOTTE, N.C. On his drive to downtown Charlotte on Wednesday, Akil Mitchell, a senior forward for Virginia, drove past his old middle school, where he was twice cut from the basketball team.

Mitchell said he didn’t make a roster cut for a team until his sophomore year in high school at Charlotte Christian School, when he was 6 foot 5 but couldn’t dunk.
