Hokies throwing off foes

In past three games, all wins, Tech has attacked more through the air

BLACKSBURG Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer said this week his team now is better passing the football than it is running it. And while on the surface that might seem like a staggering statement, the numbers back up Beamer.

The Hokies (4-1, 1-0 ACC) are averaging just 2.7 yards per rushing attempt the past three games after opening the year with 5.8 yards per carry in the first two games.
