If you're in college or you got kicked to the curb or you're in between houses or you just want a change of scenery, then it's very likely that you're looking for an apartment.

Well, you've come to the right place. Richmond.com recently partnered with Apartments.com to make it very easy to find your next place to call home.

Click here to access the site, or click on "Apartments" under the "Find It!" header on the left side of the homepage to access the apartment search.

The site is divided up into five sections – Ashland & Vicinity; Mechanicsville & Vicinity; Petersburg & Vicinity; Richmond Area; and South Central Virginia.

If for example, you're looking for an apartment in Richmond, click on the box next to Richmond, then click "Continue." This will then take you to a screen to search in an even more specific area of Richmond.

If you're looking for an apartment in Midlothian, for example, click on the box next to "Midlothian & Vicinity" and then click "Continue."

This will then bring up the criteria for the apartment you want to find. This includes price, number of bedrooms, amenities and much more.

For the purpose of this column, I chose to look for an apartment between $500 and $1,000 a month in Midlothian. I then chose two bedrooms that allows cats. I also included that I wanted a dishwasher.

My search brought me nine results complete with descriptions, contact information and pricing details. Eight of the nine apartments in my search offered virtual tours, giving an inside look to what you're find inside. You also have the option to "Save to Favorites" so you can see the ones you like the most at one time.

Some of the apartment complexes allow you to view a floor plan so you can see the exact layout. Printable brochures, emailing the listing to a friend and even checking your credit are options at some locations.

LAST TIME OUT: Opinions.
