In response to "Hijinks and Low Expectations"
You act like Mayor Wilder has done some awful things. While the past year has been a little shady, Wilder has helped turn the city around.

I really enjoyed this article! Great job Greg!

Leave it to the media to set low expectations. They are the pros at it and I think we expect less from them than we do from government. At least the government picks up the trash.

Wilder HAS done some awful things. He has done nothing to turn the city around. He has, however, been willing to take credit for the achievements of Chief Monroe, and some other competent city employees. He has ignored the auditor and his own efficiency advisors. He has wasted more tax dollars than any mayor in our history. Keep following the Wilder saga, I predict Doug will be remembered as the most wasteful mayor in Richmond's history - ever.

I was UNimpressed. The restaurant is gorgeous -- the food is nothing to write home about. Don't waste your money- go next door to Tarrant's for a delicious meal!

Each to their own. I loved Bistro Twenty Seven but thought Tarrant's mediocre. And the author is right... the cheesecake alone is worth a visit. I spent as much time as possible savoring each bite.

Kudos to Richmond.com and Ginger Warder for this wonderful and accurate review! (Style Weekly said the same thing this week.) 27 is by far one of my personal favorites-for the food, the atmosphere, (the price) and the experience overall.

Bistro 27 was excellent and by FAR one of the best deals in Richmond dining. The BEST thing about it is 27 for under 27 -- 27 different wines for under $27. Can you get better food elsewhere in Richmond? Maybe yes (maybe no), but definitely NOT at the prices you pay at 27. And, as mentioned, the service was the best I've had in Richmond lately - regardless of the price I paid for dinner. We need to keep this restaurant around (it was not overly busy the night I went so please go and eat there so it does stay around).

In response to "The Richmond.com Poll"
As a newly married, Richmond City resident, as well as a Richmond City School teacher, I want to say that our teachers are amazing. We work with very little funding and make do for our students usually from our own pockets. We also have a lack of parental involvement with the majority of the students, as well. Although we may get frustrated with lack of support, I would not change my job for anything. I love teaching my students. Our teachers ARE amazing; we are NOT in it for the money, we are in it for the children. With that being said, when my husband and I plan for children, will they be going to City schools in the district where we live? A sad no is the answer to that question. We will start looking at private schools or a move out to the county school systems and THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN MY OPINION.

Why all these polls hating on Richmond schools?
