A collaboration between the Ashland Main Street Association and the advertising, news and production staffs of Richmond Suburban News proved successful for all involved.
Main Street officials contacted us about our two Hanover County publications, The Mechanicsville Local and Ashland-Hanover Local, designing and distributing to our readers an Ashland Train Day guide.
The sales team of Sarah Suttles and Tom Haynie hustled to generate revenue, while Denine D’Angelo, production manager, coordinated the design of the supplement with Lorie Foley and Betsy Hodges of Main Street. Lorie also worked with me on content and photos.
Bill Gatewood, Train Day chairman, shared these comments in an email: “… thank you and your crew for the FANTASTIC job everyone did to get the special paper made. We are so delighted.”
We were pleased to have had the opportunity to work with the Ashland folks and to be their community newspaper. And we have already been approached about other projects.
