Join us for the opening reception of "A Beautifully Broken Virginia" featuring the works of John Plashal - author of A Beautifully Broken Virginia. This exhibition and sale will feature works from his popular book as well as some of his other landscape and portraiture photographs. His work has been described as "taking you on a viscually captivating journey through Virginia's abandoned afterworld".

John Plashal is a photographer, author and speaker based out of Richmond, Virginia. In addition to pursuing extreme landscape photography, John spends a considerable amount of his free time assimilating into rural communities in Virginia, ultimately with the goal of tapping into local knowledge in order to identify, photograph and document places that offer beauty in decay and unique histories. John's inaugural photographic coffee table book, "A Beautifully Broken Virginia", offers a creative visual commemoration to the places he has visited and has come to deeply appreciate.. He also is a member of the Statewide Faculty Speakers Bureau for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, speaking to VMFA affiliates about his journey, in the form of a presentation full of captivating imagery and amazing stories.

Opening reception is Saturday, August 10th frpom 6:30 - 9:00 pm. Exhibition and sale continues through September 14th - Mondays 10-6, Closed Tuesdays , Wednesday - Saturday 10-6 and Sundays 12-5
