RVA Fashion Week

Last year's runway show was held in Carytown. This year, it will be held in the new music venue The Broadberry.

RVA Fashion Week starts this Sunday, April 27 for a week’s worth of  fashion with runway shows, music, art and block parties.

Now in its sixth year, RVA Fashion Week (RFW) will highlight 13 local designers with a variety of events at various venues throughout the city.

Fashion Week begins Sunday in Carytown with local boutiques- AlterNatives, Glass Boat, Fab’rik, Lou Lou, and Lex’s of Carytown- each hosting their own fashion shows at their store fronst. Guests will tour a mile of style by visiting each location. Each fashion show is free and open to the public. Starts at 11 a.m.

Here’s the schedule for the rest of the week:

A Networking Social will be held Monday, April 28 at Tobacco Company Victorian Lounge with a guest speaker, Fashion Designer of ROAN of Carytown. The event is free. 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, April 29, RFW will host its Traditional Jewelry and Accessories Exhibit at Glave Kocen Gallery where independent jewelry and accessory designers will showcase their lines. 6 p.m.

New this year, the Art and Photography Showcase will be held at United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS), which is the exclusive non-profit beneficiary of The Week. This is a free event, with food provided by Mezzanine of Carytown and craft beer available from Isley Brewing Company. Held on Wednesday, April 30. 6 p.m.

On Thursday, May 1, Spartan Studios in Scott’s Addition will host another ‘first’ for RFW: RVA Threads Block Party with fashion shows emphasizing thrifty and vintage looks from local consignment boutiques from Carytown, Southside, and The West End. Isley Brewing Company will be providing craft beer and food vendors will be on site. $5 donations will be taken at the gate. 5 p.m.

The traditional Designer Runway Show will take place at the recently opened music venue, The Broadberry on Friday, May 2. Tickets are available at rvafashionweek.com. 8 p.m.

The finale event will be held Saturday, May 3 at The National. Numerous Richmond boutiques and musical acts will turn out for the event. This is a ticketed event. 9 p.m.

Lastly, more than 100 vendors will have their work on display and for purchase at the 2nd Annual Trunk Show at The Observation Deck above City Hall on May 4. Free. 2 p.m.
