The James Beard Foundation has added another Richmond name to the "Outstanding Baker" category in its annual James Beard Foundation Awards semifinalists lists, which came out on Feb. 15.
Evin Dogu, co-owner of Sub Rosa Bakery and sister to Evrim Dogu, was added a semifinalist alongside her brother.
"My sense is that the committee was not aware of the fact that both Evin and I are equal collaborators creatively and in production. I informed them and they immediately updated the listing," Evrim Dogu said.
"Going forward, into the next round of voting on the ballot, both will be considered equal partners in the bakery's production and creative collaboration," said Mary Blanton Ogushwitz, a spokesperson for the foundation.
The James Beard Award finalists will be announced March 15.
