O’Toole’s Restaurant & Pub - the restaurant at 4800 Forest Hill Ave. in South Richmond - is looking to open a second location.
Owner John O'Toole said he's looking on Midlothian Turnpike near Charter Colony Parkway (in same center where a Martin’s is closing a store), but he hasn't officially signed a lease.
"We won’t know until July 1," he said.
The original restaurant, which is near Westover Hills, celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, and it's been family-owned the whole time. In fact, family was one of the reasons O'Toole decided to open a second location.
"There are a lot more of us working here now," he joked. Adding that "an opportunity came up."
The second location will have the same menu and vibe as the original, right down to the legendary St. Patrick's Day festivities.
And the timing couldn't be better. O'Toole said he learned this week that the restaurant was named one of the "The 25 most popular Irish pubs in America, according to Foursquare" in Business Insider this year.
"It took us by surprise, he said. "That’s a nationwide list."
