Burgerim - an Israeli restaurant chain that specializes in mini hamburgers - is opening its first Richmond area location in the Publix-anchored Nuckols Place shopping center in Short Pump.
Burgerim, which means "many burgers" in Hebrew, launched in Tel Aviv in 2011 and opened its first U.S. location in Hollywood two years later. Now the chain operates dozes of franchises across the country - including four in Virginia (Arlington, Brambleton, Harrisonburg, Haymarket) and more on the way in Virginia and across the country.
With 3 ounce patties, Burgerim does mini burgers - not to be confused with sliders (2 ounce patties) or traditional hamburgers (4 ounce patties) - and they're best consumed two or three at a time.
It works like this: diners pick their protein (beef - several grades - turkey, salmon, chicken, falafel, veggie), chose a style (read: toppings) and how many $6.99 for 2, $9.99 for three.
Sides, salads, wings, milkshakes, a kids' menu and "party boxes" round out the offerings.
Burgerim hasn't released an opening date yet, but the restaurant will be at 5450 Wyndham Forest Drive and join Starbucks, Sedona Taphouse, Chipotle and Zaxby’s in the shopping center.
