STEPHEN BLY

Stephen “Steve” E. Bly, 56, of Richmond, died on Monday, October 31, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Janice Bly; sons, Zach Bly and Sam Bly; mother, Thelma Bly; brothers, Jamie Bly and John Bly; sister, Jennifer Patton (Brian); special friend, Sara Phelps, and three grandchildren, Alanah, Laci and Isaiah. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 4, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5 at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, and where services followed at 11 a.m. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery.

CALLIE COOK

Callie Mozelle Cook, 83, of Idaho, formerly of Powhatan, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Johnson Cook. Mozelle was retired from JCPenney and a 1953 graduate of Powhatan High School. She was a long-time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her children, Walter Chester (Candy), Laura Halliday (David), Arthur Chester (Deborah), Ruth Cockrell (Danny), Jennie Chester; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five sisters, and nine brothers. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 10 at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, followed with a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery.

CINDY FODOR

Cindy A. Fodor, 59, of Richmond, formerly of Powhatan, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 30, 2016. She was very active with Envoy of Westover Hills. Cindy was president of resident council. She was predeceased by her devoted friend, Charles Penatzer. She is survived by her godchildren, Jennifer Satterwhite, John Kinnamont; brothers, James Fodor, Kenneth Fodor Sr.; sisters, Laverne Lewis, Veronica Fodor; devoted friend, Lacy Chambers; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, November 4 at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway, Powhatan. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 4 at Dale Memorial Park Chesterfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to MDA or SMA.

Irene McCann

Irene Woodcock McCann, 96, of Powhatan, departed this life on Friday, November 4, 2016, to be with her Heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Theodore B. McCann Jr.; brothers, Everett, Norman, Stanley and John Woodcock; and sister, Glenis Jennings. She is survived by her caring daughter, Jean M. Jackson; son-in-law, Jimmy Jackson; granddaughter, Sherie J. Robben (Wayne); stepgreat-grandson, Joey Robben (Dawn); brother, Walter Woodcock (Barbara); devoted sister, Gracie Stroud; and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for the love, laughter and special times shared with family and friends. Irene retired from DuPont Spruance Plant in 1983 after 37 years of service. She was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church and more recently attended Powhatan Christian Fellowship. The family received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 6 at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. In celebration of a life well lived, funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 7 at Central Baptist Church, 1500 Courthouse Road, N. Chesterfield. Interment Central Baptist Church Cemetery.
