A female Virginia Commonwealth University student reported seeing a man expose himself on the university's Monroe Park campus on Tuesday afternoon.

Trevian M. Smith-Richardson, 20, of Mechanicsville, was charged with trespassing and obscene public display.

The student saw the man about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday as she walked through a courtyard behind a university-owned building in the 900 block of West Franklin Street, according to a statement from VCU police.

She immediately called campus police, who found Smith-Richardson quickly.

VCU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to report all suspicious activity to law enforcement as soon as possible. VCU police can be reached 24/7 at (804) 828-1234; tips can also be submitted through the LiveSafe app, which is monitored 24/7 by police dispatchers.
