A Goochland County man was arrested Wednesday after deputies recovered 27 firearms, more than 5 pounds of marijuana, THC oil and drug paraphernalia during a search of his home.

James Thomas Taylor Jr., 45, of Salmon Lane, was charged with one count of felony distribution of marijuana and one count of distributing or attempting to distribute more than 1 pound of marijuana.

Goochland Sheriff James Agnew said deputies executed a search warrant at his residence and recovered the drugs and guns, which included pistols, assault-style rifles and shotguns. Drug scales and packaging also were seized.

Taylor was being held without bond at Henrico Jail East. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday by video in Goochland General District Court.

Agnew said the investigation is continuing and more charges are likely.
