Police lights

A Manakin-Sabot man was killed Thursday after he lost control of his car and crashed on Shallow Well Road in Goochland County, state police said.

The victim was identified as Cuitlahuac Infante, 36.

Police said their preliminary investigation shows that Infante, driving a 2006 Nissan Altima, was traveling north about 7:15 a.m. on Shallow Well Road when he entered a curve, ran off the road to the right and overcorrected his steering. His vehicle then slid sideways before veering off the road to the left and overturning, landing on its roof about a tenth of a mile south of Woods Edge Lane.

Infante, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

Speed is being considered a factor, but the crash remains under investigation.
