The father of a 5-year-old boy who died in a drunken driving crash in Prince George County has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the child's death, police said Monday.

Daniel Krenicky, 32, also was charged with DUI, two counts of child endangerment and reckless driving by speed, police said. He was being held without bond at Riverside Regional Jail.

Police said Krenicky was behind the wheel when his car ran off Jolly Road near Second Court about 10:45 p.m. Nov. 17 and struck a culvert. Responding officers located Krenicky and his two children with injuries.

Seth Krenicky, 5, and his 9-year-old sister suffered life-threatening injuries and were flown by MedFlight helicopter to VCU Medical Center. Daniel Krenicky sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Seth died Nov. 20 at VCU Medical Center.

Police declined to release Krenicky's blood-alcohol level or say where he was driving from when the crash occurred.
