Police on Wednesday identified the 60-year-old victim of Monday’s homicide in North Richmond.
Alexander N. Wynn was found Monday evening with an apparent gunshot wound in a house in the 600 block of Bancroft Avenue, just west of Meadowbridge Road and about 10 blocks north of East Brookland Park Boulevard. The police were summoned to the home at 9:27 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
Wynn was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wynn was a game-day food-and-beverage employee for the Flying Squirrels baseball team. He had worked for the team since the 2017 season.
On Thursday, the team's vice president and chief operating officer, Todd Parnell, released a statement about Wynn's death.
“We are deeply saddened by Alexander’s tragic passing," Parnell said. "Our food and beverage operation is imperative to our fan experience and each employee provides an incredible service not only to our fans, but to our organization as a whole. We grieve the sudden and senseless loss of Alexander, and we are internally working to plan ways to honor his memory for being part of who we are.”
