Huguenot gun incident

Richmond police are trying to locate the woman holding a gun at Huguenot High School on March 23.

Richmond police are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect who brandished a handgun in a disturbance in Huguenot High School during a dance competition in March.

Police released a video and photos that show a woman wearing a camouflage jacket with fur lining who is holding a handgun while inside the gymnasium of Huguenot High School.

Police said officers responded at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, to a report of a person brandishing a weapon at the school. Officers arrived to find a fight among participants in the competition.

Officers stopped the fight and searched the school. No additional threats were found.

Police said several people suffered minor injuries that were treated at the scene, and one person was taken to a local hospital.

On the day of the incident, Falan Brown, 36, of High Point, N.C., was charged with brandishing a handgun at the school, simple assault and carrying a firearm on school grounds.
