New Kent County deputies Wednesday morning apprehended three juveniles from Richmond between the ages of 14 and 17 in connection to a rash of thefts from cars in the county.

Deputies responded at approximately 6 a.m. to a report of people entering vehicles in the area of Sassafras Drive in Quinton. Three juveniles were in custody by 6:12 a.m. and several items of property were recovered, the sheriff's department said.

So far today, the sheriff's department said they had received 28 calls for vehicles being entered. Not all the vehicles had property stolen from them.

The sheriff's department also reported that a vehicle recently reported stolen in Richmond was recovered in the area where the juveniles were apprehended.
