A Georgia man died after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Hanover County on Tuesday.

State police responded to the crash about 2:20 p.m. at the 96 mile marker of northbound I-95.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 1998 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck driven by Robert Eugene Taylor was traveling north in the center lane when the truck veered to the left and struck a 2014 Ford Mustang in the left lane. The impact forced both vehicles off the road.

Taylor, a 78-year-old resident of Brunswick, Ga., was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A woman who was a passenger in the truck, whose identity was not released, was hospitalized with serious injuries. They were both wearing their seat belts, police said.

The man driving the Mustang and his adult female passenger were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. They were both wearing their seat belts, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
