BRAZIER, John W. Sr., 82, of Mechanicsville, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marcella Brazier; and siblings, Thomas Jr., Nancy, Eugene and Kathleen. He is survived by his brother, Paul (Joyce) Brazier; his wife of 55 years, Joann; and children, Thomas (Tina), Michele (David), John Jr. (Lisa) and Mary Breen. John and Joann were blessed with nine wonderful grandchildren, Ross, Heather (Chris), Ethan, Haley, Logan, Amy, Kayla, Christopher and KJ. John was looking forward to the birth of a great-grandson, Finn, due this summer. He will be remembered as a caring man, husband, father and Pop Pop. John grew up in Whitehall, New York, and moved to Baltimore after enlisting in the Army. This is where he met and married his loving wife, Joann. In 1973, the young family moved to Richmond, where John worked for Leaseway. John was a longtime member of St. Ann’s in Ashland and enjoyed early Saturday morning tee-offs at the Hollows Golf Course. He spent his retirement traveling the world with his wife and attending VCU basketball games. His family would like to welcome all to attend a memorial Mass on Tuesday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 105 S. Snead Street, Ashland, Va. 23005.
