Virginia State Police said Monday that a 32-year-old Woodbridge woman, a 12-year-old girl and an infant were the three people who died in a two-vehicle crash in Spotsylvania County near Lake Anna on Sunday afternoon.

Four other people were seriously injured in the crash, two of them critically. State police initially reported that three people had been killed and one was injured.

State police said a 2002 Honda Accord was heading west in the 6200 block of Courthouse Road just before 3 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the road.

After the driver overcorrected, the Accord crossed the center line and hit an eastbound 2012 Acura MDX, police said.

Three people in the Accord died. Police identified them as residents of Woodbridge: 32-year-old Ana D. Pascual; a 12-year-old girl; and a 10-month-old boy.

The Accord’s driver, 22-year-old Denia A. Brizuela-Pascual of Woodbridge, was taken to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg with life-threatening injuries.

Another passenger in the vehicle, a girl, was flown to VCU Medical Center in Richmond with life-threatening injuries. Police said the adults and juveniles were wearing seat belts and the infant was properly secured.

Police said two people in the MDX — a 58-year-old male driver and a 55-year-old female passenger, both of Fairfax County — were taken to Mary Washington Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
