WATKINS, Claudia Hawley, 66, of Midlothian, Va., devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on June 12, 2019, following her courageous battle with lung disease. Born in Richmond, Va., Claudia spent her entire life as a Richmond-area resident. She was preceded in death by her parents, Minor and Mary Hawley; and her brother, David Hawley. She is survived by her daughter, Michaux Hughey (Chip); and two granddaughters, Maggie and Marie. She is also survived by her two sisters, Gina Reams (Ben) and Betty Williams; niece, Marie Boger (Bill); nephew, Benjamin Reams II; and her great-nieces, Maddy and Sarah Boger. Claudia's infectious laugh and beautiful smile lit up every room she occupied. She was the definition of a Southern Lady, graceful, gracious, generous and kind. She loved to be with her grandchildren, travel, read and visit her favorite restaurants. Her perfect day would have included relaxing on a warm beach and a quick stop on the Las Vegas Strip. But nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time with her family. Claudia was never happier than when she was surrounded by those she loved most-and we adored her right back. From her daily phone calls to her loving presence at every family celebration, she will forever be missed. A memorial visitation will be held at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., Richmond, Va. 23224, on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Westover Hills United Methodist Church, 1705 Westover Hills Blvd., Richmond, Va. 23225, 1 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, with a reception to follow.
