Zakiya, age 10, tries to encourage her cousin Jaidyn, age 4, to leave her bedroom and go back to the family room Wednesday, July 25, 2018. They are staying with their grandmother Catherine Tyler this summer along with their two siblings for a total of six grandchildren. Catherine Tyler, whose children moved out of the county for better job opportunities, takes care of six grandchildren during week days in the summer and two of them year round. As Charles City County has no grocery store, Tyler said senior citizens could not get food without the pantries. She works at the New Hope food pantry which is held twice a week.
