17th Street Farmer's Market

17th Street Farmer's Market

Updated with the restaurant and beer list!

It was bound to happen and now it's official - Brown Distributing and Devils Backbone Brewery are putting on Richmond's first Bacon Festival.

Richmond Bacon Festival will be on Sunday, June 9 in the 17th Street Farmers Market in Shockoe Bottom.

More than 20 Richmond restaurants, like On the ROX, Halligan's, TJ's and Naked Onion, will whip up "bacon-centric dishes" and Devils Backbone Brewery and Bold Rock Hard Cider will be pouring more than 20 craft beers.

Expect dishes like bacon ice cream, bacon chocolate, bacon mac 'n cheese and bacon kettle corn -- just to name a few.

Beer tickets will be $6 each; food, $3 a plate. Cash-only (there's an ATM on site).

Remember this before you complain about the lines because you got up to the ticket line and held it up while doing some beautiful mind math and asking everyone if they have any ones (you too, Brown. You're going to need ones. Lots and lots of ones.).

From the Facebook invite:

"Join us for the first annual Richmond Bacon Festival, presented by Devils Backbone Brewery, Cox Radio, and Style Weekly, to benefit Enrichmond.

Sample unique bacon-centric dishes from more than 20 of Richmond's most popular restaurants and wash it all down with a selection of 20+ Virginia craft beers from Devils Backbone Brewery and Bold Rock Hard Cider.

Live music, local vendors, and more will round out what is sure to be an epically delicious day!"
