AUBURN, N.Y. (AP) -- Jake Alu had two hits and two RBI, and Tyler Dyson hurled six scoreless innings as the Auburn Doubledays topped the Mahoning Valley Scrappers 4-2 on Sunday.

Dyson (1-1) picked up the win after he struck out three while allowing three hits.

Auburn took the lead in the first when Jake Randa scored when a runner was thrown out and Alu hit a two-run single.

After Auburn added a run in the third on a home run by Wilmer Perez, the Scrappers cut into the deficit in the ninth inning when Brayan Rocchio hit a two-run home run.

Brian Eichhorn (4-3) went four innings, allowing four runs and five hits in the New York-Penn League game. He also struck out two and walked three.

Rocchio homered and singled, driving in two runs for the Scrappers.

Despite the loss, Mahoning Valley is 7-3 against Auburn this season.
