SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- Shumpei Yoshikawa hurled six scoreless innings, leading the Visalia Rawhide over the San Jose Giants in a 2-1 win on Sunday.

Yoshikawa (3-2) allowed four hits while striking out seven to get the win.

Visalia went up 2-0 in the sixth after Jake McCarthy hit an RBI double, driving in Yoel Yanqui.

The Giants cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Jean Angomas scored on a double play.

Sean Hjelle (1-3) went six innings, allowing two runs and four hits to take the tough loss in the California League game. He also struck out three and walked one.

Visalia improved to 12-4 against San Jose this season.
