Kerry Carpenter hit a go-ahead home run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Virginia Tech (6-0) remained undefeated by holding off UNC Greensboro for a 2-1 home victory on Monday.

Luke Horanski doubled in Tech’s first run. Ryan Caveness scored an unearned run for the Spartans (3-2) in the second inning.

Zach Brzykcy recorded his second save of the season, striking out one and forcing two flyouts as he pitched one inning.

Richmond 8, Bowling Green 6: Justin Cook homered and drove in four runs as the Spiders (6-0) remained undefeated by outlasting the Falcons (1-5).

Richmond led 5-0 after the second inning. Cook homered in the sixth to extend the UR lead to 8-3.

Bowling Green scored three runs in the ninth before Riley Minorik was thrown out at second base to end the last-ditch effort.
