HARRISONBURG — Sara Jubas homered twice and drove in six runs as James Madison hammered Elon 12-0 on Friday to win the CAA softball tournament and earn an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament.

The Dukes (47-7) hit five home runs. Odicci Alexander hurled her ninth one-hitter of the season and was named the tournament’s most outstanding player.

JMU will find out its next opponent when the NCAA tournament bracket is revealed Sunday night (9 p.m., ESPN2).

Baseball

VCU 9, Saint Joseph’s 3: Designated hitter Liam Hibbits drove in three runs as the visiting Rams handled the Hawks (18-25, 10-9 Atlantic 10).

Left fielder Brandon Henson hit a solo home run, third baseman Brett Norwood had two RBIs, and center fielder and leadoff hitter Hogan Brown had three hits and scored three runs. Justin Sorokowski (3-1) allowed one run in five innings to earn the win.

No. 5 Louisville 15, Virginia 7: Second baseman Justin Lavey and shortstop Tyler Fitzgerald each homered and combined to drive in seven runs as the Cardinals (40-10, 19-6 ACC) had their way with the Cavaliers in the first game of a doubleheader in Charlottesville.

Third baseman Zack Gelof homered, doubled and drove in four runs for UVA (27-21, 10-15 ACC). Right fielder Alex Tappen also homered.

No. 25 Florida State 8, Richmond 2: Designated hitter Robby Martin had a pair of doubles, catcher Mat Nelson had a home run and the Seminoles (32-18) rolled past the visiting Spiders (25-20-1). Richmond starter Tim MIller gave up five runs (four earned) in three innings pitched, as Florida State jumped out to a lead early. Third baseman Tyler Plantier drove in both of the Spiders’ runs, with a home run in the fourth inning.
