ALEXANDRIA — Jordan Hartley scored on two 2-yard runs in the second and fourth quarters Saturday as St. Christopher’s held off St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes 17-7.

Hartley put St. Christopher’s (1-0) up 7-0 in the second quarter with his first touchdown, and Jack Siewers hit a 36-yard field goal in the fourth.

Malcolm Johnson reeled off an 80-yard run to make it interesting in the fourth quarter, but Hartley scored his second TD to put the game away with 43 seconds to play.

Corey Stewart, Kolbe Jorgenson and Demond Claiborne rushed for a touchdown each, and Lance Alfonso and Marc Gresham connected for more than 100 yards in the air as the Cavaliers (3-0) beat the Trojans (1-2).

Alfonso found Gresham to give King William an 8-6 lead in the first quarter after Essex returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, and Stewart pushed the lead to 16-8 with a 1-yard rush.

Claiborne and Jorgenson added rushing TDs in the second and fourth quarters, respectively, to pad King William’s lead.

Trevor Parker and Mike Kemp teamed to score three rushing touchdowns in the third quarter, and the Knights (3-0) stormed to a 26-point third quarter to quell the Falcons (0-2).

Parker scored on runs of 22 and 32 yards. He totaled 121 yards on the ground and Kemp 154.
