Former Benedictine High basketball standout Patrick Beilein on Friday was named the head coach at Le Moyne College, a Division II school in Syracuse, N.Y.

His father, John Beilein, is the former University of Richmond coach (1998-2002) who was the head coach at Le Moyne (1983-92).

Patrick Beilein, who played for his father at West Virginia, was the head coach at Division II West Virginia Wesleyan for two years. He then became a player-development coach for the Utah Jazz before being hired by Le Moyne.

Patrick Beilein, 32, replaces Steve Evans, who was Le Moyne's coach for the last 15 seasons. Evans was elevated to associate director of athletics at the school.
