Richmond Kickers vs Louisville City FC

Kickers coach David Bulow walks to meet Louisville City FC coach John Hackworth after the match at City Stadium. Louisville City defeated Richmond 6-0.

Dennis Chin scored the Richmond Kickers’ only goal in a 3-1 loss at Lansing Ignite FC.

This was the second match in which the Kickers faced Lansing, and their second loss, bringing their record to 0-2-1.

The Kickers played tough through the first half but were outmatched and allowed all three goals in the second. Plenty of fouls were called with 17 against Lansing and 14 against Richmond.

The Kickers’ Maxi Rodriguez was sent off in the 34th minute after receiving a warning seven minutes earlier.

The Kickers played a man down the rest of the way.

Lansing broke through at the start of the second half with a Nick Moon goal for a 1-0 advantage. Moments later, Lansing scored again as a Scott Thomsen cross into the box laid perfectly for an Alex Bruce goal.

Chin’s goal came in his debut for the Kickers. He was smartly hanging around the net to corral a missed shot and take advantage of the out-of-position goalkeeper.

The Kickers are back on the road next Saturday to take on Greenville Triumph FC at 7 p.m.
