TAMPA, Fla. — Hunter Gorskie struck four minutes after halftime to break the deadlock, and Jaime Chavez and Junior Flemmings added goals to secure a 3-0 win for the Tampa Bay Rowdies over the Richmond Kickers at Al Lang Stadium.
After Kwadwo Poku squandered the best chance of the first half when his one-on-one effort was saved by Richmond goalkeeper Brandon Barnes, the Rowdies (11-12-7) wasted little time getting on the board in the second half when Gorskie poked a loose ball into the back of the net following a corner kick in the 49th minute.
Chavez added a second goal in the 57th minute on a feed from Afrim Taku, and Flemmings put the game well out of reach with a goal in the third minute of second-half stoppage time.
Richmond (6-20-4), shut out for the 11th time this year, returns home Wednesday to host FC Cincinnati, which leads the Eastern Conference standings.
